Rooted in the classical Christian tradition, Rivendell Academy cultivates wonder as the necessary starting point, leading students toward wisdom, mastery, and lifelong learning. We believe children should first encounter the world with delight, awe, and affection before analysis and abstraction.

At Rivendell, we aim to provide an embodied education - one that engages the senses, the imagination, and the heart.

Students will learn through:

  • Classic stories - nursery rhymes, fables, poetry, fairy tales, and more

  • Great books - novels, tall tales, myths, and legends

  • Beautiful language - in the books we read, the songs we sing, the way we speak and write

  • The Bible - the greatest book ever written, the Word of God

  • Nature study - students will spend time outdoors observing and participating in God’s creation

  • Math U See - a proven math curriculum that’s skill-based and uses manipulatives to gain deeper understanding

  • Hymns, Folk Songs, Art, Games and more

As a two-day homeschool tutorial, Rivendell Academy serves as a supplement to family discipleship and home education. Parents remain the primary educators; we provide a rich academic and communal environment where students grow in friendship, virtue, and delight.

Rivendell provides an education full of wonder, wisdom, worship and fruitful work. Our hope is that students leave not only knowing more but loving rightly.

For our opening year, we will have 3 classes:

  • Kindergarten class

  • Year 1-2 class

  • Year 3-4 class

We will meet on Thursdays and Fridays,
from 9:30-3:15.

We are located at Swamp Mennonite Church, 2125 Rosedale Rd, Quakertown

Each grade will be capped at 7 students. Spots are limited and filling up.

The name Rivendell was chosen with great intention.

In Tolkien’s novels, Rivendell is known as a place of refuge, wisdom, beauty, healing, and preparation.
